The British Pharmacological Society is committed to inclusive, accessible, and diverse participation in pharmacology. We want to represent and include people from a wide variety of backgrounds across the communities we serve. We are proud of our vibrant, professional, and supportive community. We are collecting diversity monitoring data so we can analyse and report how inclusive and representative we are - and take action where necessary.
Effective diversity data monitoring will help us meet our objectives to:
• Understand who is currently participating in/benefitting from the Society, and our products, services and opportunities – and who is under-represented.
• Identify barriers in specific areas and put steps in place to remove them – working towards products, services and opportunities that are inclusive by design.
• Measure & report progress against appropriate benchmarks/targets.
If you choose to participate and share your data, you can help us to achieve this.
The information will be stored securely and only be used for representative analysis, with access restricted to limited staff involved in the processing and monitoring of the data. No information will be published or used in any way that allows individuals to be identified. We also will not report any data where there is a low number of respondents. All information provided will be treated as strictly confidential as per the Data Protection Act 2018.
We recognise that some people may regard certain information as private and have therefore included the option of ‘prefer not to say’ in all categories. If there are any questions you do not wish to answer, please choose this option (which will also support our analysis) and move on to the next question.
